Principal's Message

Dear Nixon Students, Families and Community,

I am truly honored to be selected as principal of Nixon Academy. This is a special moment for me because as a childhood resident of Cerritos, I attended ABC Unified Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. So as a proud product of this district, it's humbling to be here, serving the community that nurtured my own love of learning.

My vision for Nixon Academy is clear: to promote a vibrant learning environment where every student thrives academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. We will build a strong foundation in literacy because it is the key that unlocks a world of knowledge. In addition, we will continue to utilize multimedia and the performing arts as powerful tools for exploration, expression, and engagement to support this vibrant learning environment. This is not just about creating successful students but empowering Nixon students to become well-rounded individuals with the confidence and creativity to navigate the ever-evolving world around them.

The 2024-2025 school year will mark my 31st year as an educator. My first 21 years I primarily taught 6th-8th grade math and science and the last 9 years I served as a school administrator. Building relationships with my students and families was essential to the environment I created both as a teacher and administrator, and it will continue to be a priority as Nixon’s principal. Over the next few months, I’m excited to meet and get to know all the students, families, dedicated educators and staff of Nixon Academy. I am looking forward to the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year!
