Principal's Message

Dear Nixon Academy Jaguars,

Every year, the opening of school brings excitement that is contagious. Excitement for a new grade, class, school supplies, making new friendships and seeing friends we’ve missed over the summer. Mostly, a new year brings the excitement of new learning. As the new principal of Nixon Academy, I am proud to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year!

At Nixon Academy, our mission is to nurture responsible and creative learners by providing a safe and respectful learning environment, with unique experiences in multimedia arts production, engaging all students to be compassionate and empowered for the future. We focus of rigorous academics, partnered with innovative computer instruction and 1:1 ipad technology as an instructional tool. Our multimedia arts program encourages creativity through opportunities for student participation in the visual arts, digital arts, chorus, dance and band. We support student Social Emotional Learning through our SEL curriculum  and PBIS framework (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports). Nixon believes student achievement can be attained with respect for self and others, responsibility in actions and academics, and promoting a positive school climate through kindness and self-control.

Parent and community partnerships contribute to our students’ success. We depend on your partnership to help our campus thrive.  There are many ways to be involved throughout the year! Get involved through attending our school events and Parent Nights or as a room parent, joining our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program, or participate in PTA, School Site Council or the Nixon Education Foundation. Stay informed by ensuring all Parent Portal information is current, and keeping up with our school calendar, continuously updated website information and Parent Square communications.

Student success is dependent on several factors: great instruction, support at home, an engaging school environment, and on time daily attendance. With all that Nixon Academy has to offer, I know that the excitement of the first days of school will extend throughout the year, and students won’t want to miss a minute. I’m thrilled to welcome you all to Nixon Academy, and the promise of an enriching school year!
