   Nixon Academy has been proudly serving students and their families for over four decades. Located in Cerritos, we are the largest elementary school in the ABC Unified School District.  Nixon Academy proudly educates close to 800 students from TK through sixth grades. 

   Our highly-skilled and caring professional faculty and staff at Nixon Academy provide a comprehensive educational program for all students in a challenging, safe, and nurturing environment. We work in a collaborative spirit to ensure an instructional program that balances basic skills and enrichment. 

   Through the arts, the common core curriculum at Nixon Academy is enriched with opportunities for students to develop their full potential and achieve success in school. Our visual and performing arts have been an essential part of the school's instructional program for the past 20+ years. Students are engaged in various forms of artistic expression: band, vocal music, dance, drama and public speaking.  Infusing multimedia technology, Nixon students embrace this media to demonstrate new ways to create, communicate, collaborate, and problem solve.  

   Character development is a school-wide focus.  Faculty, staff, and parents support our students in becoming responsible and participating citizens in a diverse and ever-changing society. Setting high expectations, valuing participation, and developing caring relationships are modeled and practiced by all. These tenets have served to maintain Nixon Academy as a highly requested and priority choice for School of Choice, Intra-district and Inter-district permit applications for ABCUSD.

   The faculty and staff at Nixon Academy recognize that the key to a child’s successful learning is maintaining a strong partnership between the home, school, and community. The parents at Nixon Academy are the school’s number one partners in education. Nixon Academy’s active PTA, School Site Council, Patricia Nixon Education Foundation, and numerous community volunteers work in collaboration with the central focus of “child centered learning.”

   Nixon Academy is a school community where the highest expectations are maintained.  We were recognized by the California Department of Education in 2004 and again in 2008 as a California Distinguished School. Our school has been the recipient of the California Business for Education Excellence Honor Roll in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2019.  Nixon Academy earned the Golden Bell Award by the California School Board Association in 2014 and 2019.
