Welcome to Nixon Academy
For over five decades, Nixon Academy has proudly served students and families in Cerritos as one of the largest elementary schools in the ABC Unified School District (ABCUSD). Today, we proudly educate 650 scholars from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade.

 

Academic Excellence & Collaborative Learning
Our highly skilled and caring faculty and staff provide a comprehensive educational program within a safe, challenging, and nurturing environment. Working in a spirit of collaboration, we deliver an instructional program that balances foundational academic skills with rich enrichment opportunities.

 

Arts & Technology Integration
At Nixon Academy, the Common Core curriculum is enriched through the arts—a core pillar of our school’s identity for over 20 years. Our scholars actively explore various forms of artistic expression, including:

  • Band, Musical Troupe and Chorus
  • Drama
  • Public Speaking
By integrating modern multimedia technology into the classroom, we empower students to create, communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve in innovative ways.
 
Character & Community Partnership
Character development is a school-wide priority. Faculty, staff, and parents work together to guide students toward becoming responsible, active citizens in an ever-changing world. High expectations, active participation, and caring relationships are modeled daily. These values make Nixon Academy a top-priority choice for School of Choice, intra-district, and inter-district permit applications.
 
We believe the key to student success lies in a strong partnership between home, school, and community. Our parents are our primary partners in education. Working alongside our active PTA, School Site Council, Patricia Nixon Education Foundation, WatchDOGS (Dads of Great Students), and dedicated community volunteers, we remain united around one shared goal: child-centered learning.
