Welcome to Mrs. Saiki's Page
Hi! Welcome to the Nixon Academy! I'm Mrs. Saiki, and I have been teaching fourth grade for many years! I started my career in first grade, but moved to fourth grade after some time! I love teaching about the history of California, and I think the fourth grade curriculum is awesome! As a fourth grade teacher, I begin the process of preparing my students for middle school. I also remind my students to always be kind and look out for each other.
We have a great 1:1 iPad program in fourth grade. Each student is assigned an iPad. We use our iPads for different assignments. Students like to use Pic Collage, where we can make a visual representation of what we learned! We use Reflex Math to sharpen our basic facts skills, and we quiz on Accelerated Reader to improve our comprehension in reading. We also have the IXL program, which is tied directly to our math and reading curriculum.
If you happen to be reading this during the summertime and you have some free time, I recommend you practice your multiplication and division facts! If you have these facts memorized, it will take you a long way in fourth grade!
