School Site Council

The School Site Council

Welcome to Nixon’s School Site Council School Site Council (SSC) page! The SSC develops the content of the school’s plan for student achievement under EC Section 64001[g][1]. The school plan is reviewed annually and updated, including proposed expenditure of funds allocated to the school through the local control and accountability plan (LCAP). The four main functions of the SSC are as follows:

  1. To advise the school regarding the planning, budgeting, implementation and evaluation of the School Site Plan
  2. To study and develop the School Site Plan in relation to the education needs of the students.
  3. To emphasize the parent as the first teacher of the child and to provide opportunities for all parents to improve their teaching methods through the development activities.
  4. To take other actions as required by the Education Code.

Our SSC meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm. For most of the last two years, the SSC met virtually but we just had our first in person meeting in May.  SSC meetings are public and open to all parents and school staff, we encourage you to join us. We will send out the agenda topics at least 72 hours in advance of the meetings. The members of the Council serve two-year terms, and election will be held in June 2022 for interested applicants to begin in August of 2022.

If you would like to contact our SSC please do so by email at the following address: [email protected]

Current School Site Council

We have had the honor of serving on the SSC for the last two years, most of it virtually! This setup didn’t let us interact and get to know many parents in the school but we hope as the new Council comes in they will be able to meet in person and at school events to bring more awareness to the role of the SSC.
